The Shifnal Shuttle

Launched in 2022, the Shifnal Shuttle is managed by The Friendly Bus in partnership with Shifnal Town Council.

It’s available to anyone without access to their own transport, from young Mums to anybody with a disability, mobility issues or the elderly.

The service isn’t just about transport. It’s about independence, meeting people, making friends and enjoying life!

Become a member of the Shifnal Shuttle

We currently run trips for our members every Tuesday and Friday. We pick you up from your doorstep and drop you back home again - there’s no need to use up all your energy getting to a bus stop or waiting in the cold! All our trips are published in our Newsletter which is sent out to members every other month.

Membership costs just £10 for 12 months from the date you join. The Shifnal Shuttle is managed by Friendly Bus which is a not-for-profit organisation. This means the trips are reasonably priced to cover costs. Click on the link below to get in touch and request your membership pack!

Could you volunteer for us?

We have the following roles available….

  • Passenger Assistant (PA)

    A PA supports the driver and members. You’ll help members safely board and get to their seat, disembark the minibus, and ensure any walking aids are securely stored. You’ll also manage collecting members on your route to support your driver.

  • Minibus driver

    Safely drives the minibus to collect members from their home and take them to their destination or other charitable organisations, groups or events.

  • Leaflet distributor

    To help deliver promotional material and/or our Newsletter that is sent every other month. This helps us to keep running costs low. We want to help as many people as possible!

You’ll need to be friendly, patient and have a great sense of humour - the buses are usually full of jokes and laughter! Free training an enhanced DBS check and a supportive team are all provided!
